Multifamily Housing Service Coordinators

IDA participates in the Service Coordinators in Multifamily Housing program through HUD at many of its communities that are eligible.

What is a Service Coordinator?

A service coordinator helps residents to live independently and maintain their housing. The service coordinator will spend one-on-one time with you and assess your needs and assist you in scheduling the services you may need. Our service coordinators have working relationships with agencies in the community and design programs to meet the needs of the residents. 

There is a full-time coordinator at Mount Nittany Residences and also at Evergreen Manors.  Part-time coordinators are present at Blair Tower, Country Manor, IDA Tower, IDACON, Laurelwood Apartments, Marian House Manor and Turner Apartments.

At IDA’s family development of Evergreen Manors, resource referrals may be basic needs (food, clothing, supplies), financial assistance/budgeting, behavioral health and educational-vocational opportunities.  Available to residents are the following: on-site food pantry, supply closet of cleaning supplies and hygiene products, lending library and a computer lab.  

Service coordinators at IDA’s elderly/disabled housing communities make referrals for homemaker services, meal delivery, food banks, transportation, senior centers, mental health and health insurance providers.  Many communities offer monthly blood pressure screenings and vaccination clinics.  Health and wellness presentations are held often.

Service coordinators may help with applications for Supplemental Social Security, SNAP, Medical Assistance and Rent Rebates.
